“Your teachings have truly changed the way I see and move through the world. Beyond grateful to have you as my teacher. What a gift you are!” Rachel Ulanet

“You offer freely great love and compassion and healing to all of us. You enrich and uplift…..sitting taller and feeling all springy in my soul….Ride through the beautiful valley amongst tall trees and soft mists swirling about, hiding unicorns who gaze in wonder at the this gentle gray haired woman who emanates great love before them.” -Sandra Jones

I am always humbled by one’s desire to heal and to step into these places of discomfort with me as their guide. It is a true honor.
Every moment is an opportunity.

To find wellness, we have to be present. This may be one of the most challenging things that we ask of ourselves. Our brain loves to judge, critique, and ruminate on the past and things that have not happened yet.
When we practice being present, we have the opportunity to choose.

Here, I would like to invite you to pause. Whether it be on the mat, in the saddle or next to the ones that we love, human or horse.
When we do this, we have an opportunity to feel. When we feel, we can begin to uncover our truth, and embodiment becomes available, so that we know.
When we know, then we can move into BE-ing in alignment.

Oftentimes, the experience of pausing allows alchemy to happen.
We can witness sensations, gifts, abundance, and the things we can let go of or that need to change.
Meeting ourselves exactly where we are now. Not where we have been in the past or what could be.
The fine line and importance between manifesting our desires and our wishes, with the soft release to know that what is right will find us.

Right where we are.
We pause to feel, we feel to know, we know to be.

I am honored to be your Wayshower, but you are the true healer. What I offer is never a one-size-fits-all, and I do not wave a magic wand, (well, a feather actually ;) ) I can clear your energetic lens, which helps you see the world and situations differently. I can help stuck energy move in your body, your energy fields, and beyond; and I can offer you many, many tools from my basket of knowledge to directly apply to everyday living. I do believe in magic and the divine and something so great that our tiny minds can not comprehend. And I believe that we have the opportunity to feel that magic every single day and second if we allow ourselves. Your thoughts and ideas are energy, therefore manifesting in you. These energies project into the world, calling back what you are.

You may be asked to make some lifestyle shifts. You may be asked to step into deeper inquiry. These ideas are simple, yet they are mighty and require discipline. But we arrive. Then we move in and through.

I look forward to working with you. Thank you for being here. M xx

“Spiritual truth is not something elaborate or esoteric, it is in fact profound common sense." Sogyal Rinpoche-Tibetan Book of Living and Dying

My Story

I grew up a bit feral in the Berkshires, in the barn and barefoot, on that stinker of a pony to the right, learning the language of nature, animals and the Equus. My mother rode when she was pregnant with me until I was ready to come into the world. The rythym of the Equus is literally in my cellular make up. When I was in a traditional school setting, I realized the profound effect that teachers had on me. The not so good ones and the exceptional ones. The exceptional one changed my life and I decided that I wanted to be an educator, in hopes of helping at least one student. I remember saying ‘if I could help even one person, it would be worth it.’

Reflecting back on my childhood, I realize some of my most profound Educators didn’t speak English. The formative early years in the natural world with animals had more of an effect than I realized. As waves crash between the ebb and flow, my worlds began to collide. The 80’s ideas of ‘success’ got a hold of my brain, I started to accumulated Educational degrees and certifications and left behind what I always knew was true. I became a professional educator over 34 years ago. But eventually the past does find us. When my kids were little, without horses in my life daily I felt as though I was dying. Yoga was a gateway back to myself. And I could not do without horses anymore. I found my way back to their medicine, and Belle found me.

Professional Career: For 11 years, I was a High School Art Teacher, Department Head, and Curriculum Coordinator for a public High School in Massachusetts. Responsible for meeting the diverse needs of thousands of students, from the learning disabled to advanced placement students. I created an Art Curriculum for a high-end substance abuse facility in the Berkshires, working with clients of high profile at a moment’s notice to meet their diverse needs. I have taught yoga for over 2 decades and received many certifications, including Yoga and Immunity, Positional Therapy, Shamanic Healing, Yoga, Shamanism, and Shamanic Reiki.  I am the creator of Yoga for Equestrians; a Curriculum to meet the needs of the Equestrian Body and Mind.

I am the creator of White Feather Equus Union; a comprehensive healing platform. I have created programming & clinics in Energy Accountability; Mindfulness & Body awareness for Handlers of horses, specifically those working in Therapeutic Riding Facilities & settings, so that the horses can do their jobs with the least amount of stress. I have created Meditation with Horses, Yoga with Horses, and Advanced Energy Healing with Horses at our sacred home in the Mountains of Western Massachusetts. I am honored to be a part of Miraval Berkshires in Lenox MA as an Equine Specialist, where I have created programs taylored to healing and guest services. I continue to deepen my relationship with my previously wild Mustang Belle and our Magical Burro friend, Mr. Mojave G. Merlin. I am an ever-evolving student of living. Animals and nature have provided me with my informal education. The three previously ‘wild’ rescues I am the guardian of, continue to teach me about energy, patience, and, most importantly, trusting what they say is true. I have found that for me to hear them, I have to be quiet enough to listen. And that their behavior is a direct reaction to my energy. As they will always be who they are.

My studies in Buddhism, Native Cultures, Angelic Healing, Quantum Physics, Equine Massage, Natural Horsemanship, the language of the Equus, and diverse disciplines with Equestrian Trainers inspire and bring depth to my teaching.

"Illness brings Stillness” has been one of my most informative and overwhelming teachings. Having recovered from a severe concussion, which came with subsequent bodily injuries, my healing was slow, arduous, stressful, exhausting, and painful. During my recovery time, I had no choice but to be ‘still’, as it hurt to ‘do’ anything, existing was all I could manage. This brought me to a depth of knowledge about rehabilitating the body, and just as importantly, the MIND. Conscious awareness in movement and thought as one moves throughout the exquisiteness of the mundane. As one moves through the millimeter moments that string together to make up the whole. A new landscape of ISNESS opened before my eyes. This led to my ability and continued practice in meditation, awareness, the power of thought, and how the brain participates in the health of the body. This has brought me to a deeper place of being present, which allows me to be in the space of Divine knowing. The silver lining, I share with my students. A practice to be fully conscious in multi-sensory awareness in their body and mind, so one can live more fully in their everyday. Regardless of task or medium, this practice allows one the opportunity to experience something bigger than we have words for. To encompass the indescribable: Spirituality. And an opportunity for Divine Living in the mundane.

Equestrian Experience: I rode in front of my mother on her horse until I had my first pony at age 4. As a young teenager, I competed in Gymkhana and local 4-H shows. During my teen years, I showed as a Hunter Jumper and enjoyed Hunter Paces. My fondest and most influential moments were alone in the woods on my horse John Henry as I navigated bumpy adolescence. This was all pre helmets and cellphones, we wandered through the woods, with each step melting away teen troubles. I’d come home to the signature bareback seat imbedded in my jeans. It is there that I learned the depth of the connection to the Equus. I have been privy to learning from the back of an upper-level German-bred master that taught me the finer details of dressage under the tutelage of a former Olympian. Today I continue to enjoy the landscape with my previously wild mustang Belle. We practice aligning, in body and mind, if this translates to a flying lead change, or navigating the wildlife in the woods. We aspire to Event, do Working Equitation, and continue with our liberty training, tack-less riding-based on intuitive communication, and our joint healing work. We both love our time in the woods on the trails together the most. Belle has quickly become my master teacher. Perhaps it was she who has been training me all along. Teaching me to define even the tiniest moments of power and softness, and the power of my thoughts, breath, and physical energy.

I reside in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts where nature and beauty are plentiful and a tonic to my soul. Belle and I spent 2 years in a Therapeutic Riding barn, where she shared her healing energy with all she met and learned about diversity in the physical human form. I created programs to bring depth to learning in and around horses, including clinics for handlers, educators, equestrians, collegiate riding teams, children, and veterans. For 3 years our home with Mojave G. Merlin, (a born wild Burro, not far from where Belle was rounded up), was on the side of the Sacred Mountain in MA, (WaWachu) we listened to the voices of the ancestors and the woods, offering private healing sessions, Yoga, Meditation, Ceremonies, Gatherings & Celebrations with and without the horses. Most recently we have come full circle, back to my childhood home, in the same woods and fields where I learned the language of the Equus. It is pure magic. I am honored to bring my creations to Miraval Resorts in the Berkshires where I offer an eclectic array of Equine Assisted offerings. I continue to teach yoga and offer healing sessions that you will find in my ‘offering’ section, specializing in meeting clients' unique needs. My diverse interests, professional achievements, and comprehensive approach to the body and mind have allowed me to create a cohesive, cross-disciplined experience for the learner. And I am so honored and humbled to share it with you. I so look forward to seeing you! M xx

One of the greatest gifts as a teacher is to hear that someone feels better because of something that I have gifted for their body or mind. That I have offered ease in some way is a humbling experience.

Shoshones’ Belle. Born wild in the Canyons and Mountains of Nevada, where the Shoshone tribe lived and thrived for generations. Her lineage is directly from Spain and Venezuela and the oldest breed of horse Akele Teke. Her wild herd having survived hundreds of years untouched in this rugged, unforgiving landscape. Belle was captured as a yearling by routine corralling of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and was held in pens until she was 5. It seems it was a last-minute decision to pull her for an Extreme Mustang Makeover (EMM). Her fate had her slated for Long term holding, which eventually the horses in LTH can be sold to anyone, sadly sometimes for slaughter. The EMM is where our paths crossed. A completely untouched wild mustang is paired with a random trainer and goes from ‘wild to mild’ in 100 days. At the end of the 100 days, she is ridden and performs in front of a live audience. At the end of the two-day Makeover, she is auctioned off to the highest bidder. Every time I tell this part of the story I get emotional. It was divine and magic. As I had reached my maximum bid. A woman I had never met before offered me ‘200.00 towards that horse.’ Words usually pale when I try to describe Belle, and my eyes burn. To say that she is special is an understatement. To those who meet her, she is magic. The moment children put their hands on her, she drops her head. Visitors in wheelchairs get Belle’s head in their lap. She is part of our Meditation curriculum, Mindfulness and Handling workshops in addition to Equus Union, Yoga, Liberty training programs, Gatherings and Celebrations. But mostly, she is my balm, she is my partner. She tests me to my edges and she of course knows where they are before I do. Defining and refining what I know to be true, in heart and soul, my Master teacher. I am so glad that I was quiet enough to hear her voice when I met her. I had walked up to her stall door as she was eating and said ‘Hi Belle’, she picked up her head from her hay and said “there you are”. And that was it. I was in a current that I could not step out of. Our otherworldly time and space collided right there and then. Full of awe and wonder at having met again.

The activity of the brain manifests itself in the body. If we are anxious or sad we feel it in our belly or our heart. Over time, energy accumulates blocking the flow of healthy energy in the meridians and energy centers in the body. It is imperative to physically release toxic energy so the body does not harbor it, therefore becoming a dis-ease.

ANASAZI -Inspiration

The oldest Native American tribe. The Anasazi just were. They created beauty for function. Their work was living. They were one with nature, their animals, and their horses. Everything that they did had meaning for their survival. Their instincts are pure and their knowing true. This word, and these people have had a profound effect on who I am.

I have been deeply inspired by another space and time of history and past lives that I have experienced. I was able to visit the South West for the first time several years ago. In Canyon de Chelly I was immediately overtaken by emotion. The scale, the beauty, the colors, and the knowledge of how tribes could survive and thrive in this landscape were all overwhelming. What also was happening; my soul was being lit up. My brain had to catch up. I paused and closed my eyes. It was then that I heard the voices of my ancestors call to me in reverence for my return. I had multiple past life experiences where I knew that I was in this landscape, during a time of great turmoil and unrest. My body reacted as it does when met with divinity and spirituality, completely electrified, words fail me, and tears stream down my cheeks. And in my throat rose the sound to call in response. As I knew in my soul how to do it.

I will continue to help bring awareness, education, and understanding to Indigenous ways of being. To help bring knowledge to others to their deepest self, so that they may live peacefully on this Earth. I will continue to speak up for the Earth and Indigenous cultures and continue to work with Land Conservancy groups and local schools. I am an ally to the First People of Massachusetts and New York State, helping preserve Sacred Sites, and to bring knowledge of the Land and ways of the First People to our modern culture.

I hope to gift people an opportunity to step into this deep space of being and knowing. Inspired by our ancestors and the people that lived freely on this Earth with reverence for it. Not diminishing who they were, but the opposite, bringing understanding to who they were, the ways of being that I hold so dear and sacred, which have provided deep healing to me and many others.

I share, in hopes that we can tread as lightly as possible as we navigate modern culture with the reverence for indigenous ways of being.

When we hold a piece of our truths back, we are doing ourselves an injustice. When we hold this truth in and do not share it, we are compromising the energy in our bodies. I have held this story in, shy to share it. Here, I humbly share with you my truth, so that I stand before you, as I am. My hope is, that it gives you courage to release your truth. M

Mojave! Born wild from Death Valley NV, in the Mojave desert, this sweet boy is a BLM alum. Word on the street is, his herd took over a town and had to be rounded up. The sweetest boy that ever was. A true joy-bringer and Alchemist he shifts the energy of all he meets. He knows exaclty where to place himself and when. Sometimes it is over your heart, or throat or trying to sit in your lap. It is hard to keep up with a conversation he just keeps you in the moment. We are so in love. And he completes the trio of Grays.
